Crown Prince Hassan Bin Talal, younger brother of King Hussein of Jordan smiles with his bride Sarvath Ikramullah of Pakistan at their wedding in Karachi. Both met while studying in London.

Sarvath Ikramullah, is daughter of Mohammed Ikramullah, Pakistan's first Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and her mother Begum Shaista Suhrawardy Ikramullah, was a writer and one of Pakistan's first two female members of Parliament. Her paternal uncle, Mohammad Hidayatullah, was Vice-President of India and her maternal uncle, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, was Prime Minister of Pakistan.
